Qu Fanyao

Doutor (UnB, Brasília, 1998); pós-doutorado (National Research Council Canadá, 2003-2005). Professor Associado. Núcleo de Física Aplicada. Áreas de atuação: spintrônica, magnetotrônica, física computacional, cálculo numérico, dentre outros. Atua principalmente nos temas referentes à Modelagem de Estruturas Eletrônicas dos Sistemas de Baixa Dimensionalidade (pontos quânticos semicondutores magnéticos, moléculas magnéticas e nanocristais metálicos), com ênfase em efeitos dos muitos-corpos. Investiga também as propriedades ópticas e o transporte de spin por meio de pontos quânticos semicondutores magnéticos, pontos quânticos de grafeno e moléculas magnéticas, para desenvolvimento de novos materiais magnéticos, com o objetivo de alcançar potenciais aplicações dos resultados obtidos em biotecnologia, dispositivos spintrônicos e magnetotrônicos, e inovar teorias no âmbito da física. Foi premiado como membro associado de TWAS-UNESCO e como membro associado regular sênior do ICTP (International Center for Theoretical Physics, Itália) no período do 2008 à 2013 pela Academy of Sciences for Developing World (TWAS).
